SUP Oklahoma Has a New Owner

Thursday, June 11th, 2015

A word from Kent, the new owner of SUP Oklahoma:

My greIMG_5872 (1)at friends Eric and Suzanne may be passing the “torch” of ownership to me, but I am committed to the same integrity, quality and service that SUP Oklahoma was not only built on, but that you have come to expect. SUP Oklahoma is great as is, but I have a plan to make it even better.

First, SUP Oklahoma now has a “home” on the water. SUP Oklahoma will be teaming with Red Bud Marina on Lake Oologah which is conveniently located just north of Tulsa. There, not only will we have a beautiful place to paddle, we will have the benefit of the marina’s facilities. Paddling out from the marina’s SUP dock offers a great place to casually enjoy nature, when paddling around Goat Island, or on a sunset/ full moon paddle tour. It is also a great place to test your limits in our PaddleFit classes or on downwinders when the conditions are right. We will also continue classes at beautiful Lake Bixhoma as well as occasionally scheduling special paddles and tours at other NE Oklahoma lakes and rivers.

Our marina Board shop carries Hobie and BIC stand up paddle boards as well as paddles and accessories on hand to fit everyone’s budget. We will also have SUP rentals at the marina.

Be sure to keep an eye on our calendar ( to see what’s coming up. Call or Text 918-852-0102 to inquire or reserve.

Hope to see you at one of our locations!

Eric is PaddleFit Level 2 Certified

Tuesday, September 25th, 2012

I am back from Westport, CT and I am excited to say that I am now PaddleFit Level 2 certified!  It was a fun and informative weekend.  I learned a ton about this growing sport, especially how it can be incorporated into an existing land based fitness program for cross training or as a standalone program, including race specific training.  By the way, I got to do a little racing this weekend and it is FUN.  You will want to get faster!  But, it is all just plain old fun.  It has given me a lot to think about as I start this “part time” venture, especially launching a water sport as Fall and Winter approach.  In the short/ near term, let me just say that I am building an inventory of high quality boards and equipment for sale and use in lessons and classes.  Soon I will be prepared to introduce new paddlers to the water in a safe and fun way.  For those that are already experienced, I can improve your technique, and help make you faster.  I also believe I can challenge your overall level of fitness.  Finally, I was certainly not the first to Stand Up Paddle on Oklahoma’s waters, but I believe there are so few people in Oklahoma that know about SUP or are doing it here that I believe there is a “blank canvas” for building a paddling community.  So, my hope is that you are interested, will tell your friends and we can all grow together.
