Lessons & Classes

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAStand Up Paddle is a sport for everyone.  SUP is not only easy to learn, it is a healthy and fun way to get outside and connect with nature. If you make it part of your fitness plan, it will help get you into the best shape of your life!

Introductory lessons focus on safety, equipment overview and proper technique. Because SUP has a short learning curve, with these basics you will be ready to embark on your own SUP adventure – whether here in Oklahoma or wherever your travels may take you. If you are interested in taking your skills to the next level, advanced instruction is available to fine tune stroke technique and advance turning moves. These skills are important to race, distance and fitness paddling or for those that just want to become a more knowledgeable and skilled paddler. Lessons are approximately 1.5 hours and are taught by a PaddleFit certified instructor. Instructors are also certified in CPR/AED.

Give us a full day and we will give you a Stand Up Paddle adventure like no other.  SUP Oklahoma will guide you on a 22 mile trip along the Verdigris River. The launch is just downstream from the Port of Catoosa, the furthest inland port in the U.S., to Bluff Landing just upstream from Lock 18. The trip will take approximately 6 to 8 hours and includes an on stream lunch and beverages. While endurance athletes might be drawn to this type of trip, it is manageable by anyone with a sense of adventure. Prior paddling experience or intro lesson required.

Lesson/ Class Location:

SUP Oklahoma schedules lessons at various NE Oklahoma lakes. While SUP Oklahoma has identified great lesson venues, we are always on the lookout for new and exciting places to paddle. If you have a suggested location for your lesson, including your own lake-home dock, we are flexible. The only requirement is that we must have safe access to the water.
